The History of AUPSA
For long Ugandans in South Africa had expressed a desire to come together as a group in one way or the other to enhance their interests. For various reasons, this did not happen.
Following the initiative of Stephen Twinoburyo, a meeting was held at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, Johannesburg, on 30th May 2009 to explore ways of forming a social network that would enhance the flow of ideas among like-minded Ugandan professionals in South Africa. Those in attendance were Stephen Twinoburyo, Allan Lwabi, David Iraka, Apollo Segawa, Peter Nyangabyaki and David Nekyon. Those who were part of this idea but were apologetically not able to attend the meeting were Vincent Makmot, David Rukanshonga, Charles James Oketch and Daniel Balaba.
